one big onion
1 tbs crushed garlic
0ne carrot
2 tbs tomato puree
1 cup water
1 cube chicken broth
few drops lemon
salt and pepper
1 BP oil or margarine

Satee the onions in and garlic in margin until slightly light brown Add tomato puree and water add salt and pepper to taste and boil for 5 minutes slice the carrot and add to the tomato mix, cook for another 10 minutes Add the okra and chicken broth and cook either on the stove or in the oven when cooked add a few lemon drops and serve with pitta bread or white rice

‘ Tehini salad‘

4 tbs sesame paste or tehini salt
pepper
cumin
few drops lemon
1 tbs yoghurt
1/2 cup water
2 tbs vinegar parsley

Add the sesame paste and mix well with the water. add water slowly until the paste thickens add vinegar, slat pepper and cumin and mix well add the lemon and yoghurt , garnish with parsley Serve with pitta bread


‘Baklawa‘

1 pack of fillo pastry
2 tbs margarine
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup water vanilla flavor
1/2 lemon

spray a dish with non-stick spray or brush melted margarine place the layers of fillo pastry separated with a thin layer of margarine every other layer cut in the required shape and place in the oven until cooked take out of the oven and leave it to cool

prepare syrup : Mix sugar with water and put on the stove until boiling. add lemon and cook for 10 minutes. add vanilla and leave to cool. add to the baklawa when ready to serve.
