‘Mixed vegetable

Toor Dal 1 cup
Chopped spinach 1 small packet
Onion 1
Carrot 2
Chana dal 1`2 teaspoon
Urad dal 1`2 teaspoon
Mustard 1`4 teaspoon
Cumin &frac1/2 teaspoon
Tomato 1 ( cut into small pieces )
Salad oil 1 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon ( or as per your taste )
Red chilli 1 ( Broken into 2 or 3 pieces) Green chilli 1 ( Cut into 2 or
3 pieces )
Curry leaves 4 or 5
Tamarind 1`2 teaspoon
A pinch of turmeric powder
A clove of garlic

Add two cups of water , pinch of turmeric, chopped spinach, carrots, onions,
tomatoes and tamarind to 1 cup of Toor dal and pressure cook. If you donot
have a pressure cooker, cook in any vessel till the toor dal becomes soft.
After the above mixture is fully cooked. Pour 1 tablespoon salad oil into
a pan and add 1`2 teaspoon urad dal, 1`2 teaspoon chana dal, red chili
pieces, 1`4 teaspoon mustard, cumin, garlic and fry on a low flame. When
these are light brown, add the above cooked dal and vegetable mixture and
enough salt to taste. Cook the whole mixture for about 5 minutes, mixing
it at intervals. The mixed vegetable dal is ready to be served with rice.

7 x Potatoes boiled, peeled, mashed (7 To 8)
2-3 cans of tuna
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
3 x Green chillies grouned
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 cup Bread crumbs
1 tsp Ginger grated
1 tsp Garlic grated
1/2 tsp Cuminvseed powder
1 tsp Coriander
Salt to taste
Oil for shallow frying

For crust: Mix all ingredients together thouroughly. Keep aside. To proceed:
Take a tbspful of mixture, spread on palm. Press gently into rounded flattish
patties. Shallow fry on a griddle, drizzling oil to crispen crust. Serve
hot with tamarind chutney and green chutney or with tomato ketchup. Making
time: 30 minutes Makes: 10-12 patties |

Soak Almonds for 1 hour and put them
in boiling water for about 5 min . Grind almonds and cashewnuts and keep
them to a side. Boil milk and add the almond and cashew nuts mixture and
cook for about 15-20 min. Add enough sugar and leave it to cool and then
refrigerate. Take a bread piece and cut of the brown corners . Pour the
refrigerated mixture on the bread piece and sprinkle saffron cardamon powder
on top. It is ready to be served.
