Mix 2 cups all purpose flour a dash
of salt and 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast in a bowl,then add 1
tablespoon of vegetable oil,1 egg and 2/3 cup of warm water.Mix
the dough till manageable,adding more water if needed.Knead dough
for 6 minutes or until smooth and elastic.Place dough in bowl and
cover and leave in a warm place so that the dough will rise.This
will take an hour or until the dough as doubled in size.Knead the
dough again and place on a ligtly floured work surface and divede
in to 8 pieces.Knead each piece until smooth and form in to a disc
or flat pancake.Place some peeled chopped apples one each one and
shape the dough around it.Pinch the edges to seal.Place the dough
ball on a piece of wax paper sealing it inside and place sealed
side down for 10 minutes.Repeat this 8 times while waiting for the
oil to reach temp.and for a pot of water to bail.Take each dough
ball and blanch each till the paper floats off.Remove the doughnut
with a slotted spoon on to paper towels.Then fry the doughnuts in
the oil for 6-8 minutes turning 1 time.These doughnuts will "grow"
during cooking.Drain on paper towel then toss or sprinkle with sugar
and cinnamon.Allow to cool slightly before serving.
